Design

In design, MGM, offers a complete service from full detail schematics to consultations with architects and design engineers. The schematics are color coded to identify the types of gas lines in a 3-D configuration. This is done in AutoCAD software. Once the layout data is loaded into the computer, two copies are printed, and a file is saved on a disk for further backup. All plans are guaranteed code compliant.

If an account has a design firm already contracted, MGM, provides consultation and plan review service for that firm. The process of bringing plans into compliance requires hours of review with a micro-reader, counting outlets, control panels, alarms, safety valves, evaporators, vacuum systems, and discharge areas, and following gas lines from origin to each outlet. The plans for a doctor's office or small clinic do not take very much time, but the plans for a 500-bed hospital with emergency rooms, operating rooms, recovery rooms, and laboratories takes considerable time and concentration to ensure code compliance.

When plans call for an "add-on" system, the first priority is an evaluation and certification of the existing system. This requires that the plans and the physical system itself be audited. A comprehensive evaluation of the existing system and its components is required to match the two systems properly. Once the host system has been verified then the design of the plans for the "add-on" system is checked for code compliance.

It is important that both systems are in compliance. Either system could disrupt or contaminate the other. If so, a complete system evaluation, purge and clean has to be done on both systems.
